		<description>It&#039;s not only WSDOT. Most state DOTs are primarily highway builders. This is due to a combination of political influence of rural/suburban regions, the highway culture within these organizations, and AASHTOs influence in federal transportation legislation. 

States have way too much power in determining how Federal transportation money is spent. There has been an increase in ped/bike/transit spending with the last few transportation bills, but I think cities and metro areas need to have more control in how this money is spent.</description>

		<description>WSDOT has it&#039;s finger on a different pulse than the people of the region. I have confidence that this road will not be built. The Puget Sound region is completely sick of the car.</description>
