98.4% of Metro LA Employees REFUSE to Go Metro

Metro Los Angeles has a new campaign. A new lie of omission. Their new big thing is featuring the 1.6% of their employees that ride public transit, sometimes, as a way of kind of saying that “Everyone here takes the bus and train.”

You read it right 1.6% of them ride the train or bus. The exact number is 155 out of 9200 employees.

Too often even the bus operator’s own route is a mystery to them:

“So when is the last bus,” me.
“I’m not really sure Miss, I just drive this thing,” bus operator.

Metro doesn’t ride the bus, so they do things like having the local bus stop on one side of a busy street and the rapid bus stop on the other side of the busy street. It's so fun to watch people almost get killed trying to catch a bus, because they bet wrong in regards to which bus was going to come first.

The reason why Metro forces their customers to play traffic frogger? I got this kernel of goodness from one of Metro’s knowledgeable employees:

“Because you guys can’t read and then we have to explain what bus we are at each stop.”

I won’t dwell too much on the operators. It is not their fault, all the time…but why don’t you executives ride the bus/train to work everyday?!!

I have an idea Metro, why don’t you stop talking and typing and start riding your product?
